Are your entrance mats in Kenya stopping the mud of the long rains, or is it ending up on the floor inside?

Which entrance mats in Kenya do I need?

Outside the door: coir or coil mats scrape mud off shoes.
Just inside: a carpet door mat dries the last of the water.
Offices, banks and malls: vinyl loop cut to fill the whole entrance.

Picture a small office block in Upper Hill where the cleaner mops the lobby four times on a rainy day. A coil mat outside and a carpet mat inside catch most of the mud before it reaches the lift.

Entrance mat questions

Which door mats in Kenya work best outdoors?

Coir and coil mats. Both scrape well and let water drain through.

Can vinyl loop be cut to fit a recess?

Yes. Commercial entrance matting is sold per sqm, so it can be cut to your size.

Will the carpet door mat slide on tiles?

It has an anti slip back made to grip smooth floors.

How do I clean them?

Shake or vacuum the carpet mat. Hose the coil and vinyl loop mats and let them dry.

Do you have rubber door mats?

Yes. Coin rubber mats are sold by the metre. Read the rubber flooring guide for more.
