Where clients use frosted film
- Bathroom windows: privacy without losing daylight
- Office glass partitions: meeting rooms that feel private
- Shop and bank fronts: a logo band at eye level
- Glass doors: a safety strip so nobody walks into the glass
Picture a dental clinic in Westlands with a glass wall between the waiting room and the chair. A frosted band with the clinic logo goes up in an afternoon. Patients get privacy and the brand is the first thing visitors see.
Working out the cost for your glass
Frosted film is sold per running metre off a roll 1.2 metres wide. Measure the glass, not the frame, then work out how many metres of roll you need.
- Bathroom window. A pane of 0.6 by 0.9 metres needs 1 metre of film. At KSh 599 that is KSh 599.
- Office partition on Moi Avenue. Four glass panels, each 1 metre wide and 2.1 metres tall. Each panel takes one 2.1 metre drop. 4 x 2.1 = 8.4, so buy 9 metres. At KSh 599 that is KSh 5,391. At KSh 799 it is KSh 7,191.
- Privacy band only. A glass wall 6 metres long with a band 1 metre tall at eye level. Run the film sideways and you need 6 metres. 6 x KSh 599 = KSh 3,594.
Plain frosted runs from KSh 599 to KSh 799 per metre. Logo film starts at KSh 599 per metre plus design. Fitting is quoted on WhatsApp. For every film price in one place see our window film price guide.
Full cover, a band or a pattern?
You do not have to frost the whole pane. Think about who needs to see what.
- Full cover suits bathrooms, toilets and clinic rooms. Nobody sees in at any height.
- An eye level band suits offices and boardrooms. People sitting or standing inside are hidden, yet light still pours over the top. It also stops people walking into clear glass.
- Stripes or a logo suit receptions and shop fronts. You get some privacy and your brand at the same time.
For glass partitions in offices our page on frosted film for office glass shows the layouts that work best.
Not sure which one suits your space? Send a photo of the glass on WhatsApp with rough sizes. We will suggest a layout and send a price. You can also pop into Summit House on Moi Avenue and see plain and patterned film on glass before you decide.
Mistakes people make with frosted film
- Fitting on a dusty day. One grain of Nairobi dust under film makes a bump you will see forever. Fit indoors with windows closed.
- Skipping the cleaning. Paint spots, putty and grease must come off first. Clean with soapy water and a scraper.
- Measuring the frame. Film goes on the glass only. Measure inside the beading and trim to fit.
- Buying the exact length. Allow a little extra for trimming and one mistake.
- Picking the wrong film. If you want heat control or a mirror look, frosted is not the right film. Compare all three in our frosted vs one way vs blackout guide.

Cleaning and caring for frosted film
Frosted film needs very little care. Give it a few days to settle before the first wash. After that:
- Dust it with a soft dry cloth.
- Wash with water and a drop of mild soap.
- Dry with a squeegee or a soft cloth.
- Never use a blade, steel wool or scouring powder on the film.
- If an edge starts to lift, press it down with a clean card before dust gets under it.

Does frosted film let light in?
Yes. It softens light but keeps the room bright.
Can it be removed later?
Yes. It peels off without harming the glass, which suits tenants.
Can you put our logo on it?
Yes. We cut your logo or name into the film. Send the logo on WhatsApp.
How long does frosted film last?
Indoors it lasts for years with simple cleaning using soapy water and a soft cloth.
Can frosted film go on a shower door?
Yes. Fit it on the dry side of the glass, away from the spray. It will give privacy without getting soaked every day.
Is frosted film the same as sandblasted glass?
No. It gives a very similar look, but it is a film on the glass. It costs far less than new glass and can be removed later.
Can I fit frosted film myself?
Yes. Small windows are easy with soapy water, a squeegee and a sharp blade. For big partitions or logo work we fit it for you, quoted on WhatsApp.
