Which gym flooring in Kenya do I need?

Free weights and lifting: 20mm rubber gym tiles under racks and platforms.
Cardio and machines: 5mm rubber rolls give fewer joints over a big room.
Home gym in a spare room: 14mm tiles, each covering about 0.83 sqm.
Yoga, kids and martial arts: EVA foam for softer landings.

Picture a personal trainer turning a garage in Syokimau into a small studio. Gym flooring tiles under the rack and EVA mats in the stretching corner keep the knees happy and the neighbours calm.

Gym flooring questions

What thickness is best for deadlifts?

Use the 20mm rubber gym flooring tiles. Thinner rolls are fine for machines but not for dropped weights.

Tiles or rolls?

Tiles are easy to lift and swap. Rolls cover a big floor faster with fewer joints.

Are EVA gym mats in Kenya enough for a gym?

For stretching, yoga and kids, yes. For dumbbells and barbells, use rubber.

Can gym rubber mats go over tiles?

Yes, on a flat, clean floor. Rubber also protects the tiles underneath.

How many tiles do I need?

Measure length times width and add a few spare tiles for cuts. Our gym and garage rubber flooring guide walks you through it.
