Ask your landlord these questions first

• Are there fit out rules for the building? Some blocks only allow noisy work at set hours.
• Must the floor be returned to its original state when you leave? Then pick a floor that lifts easily, like carpet tiles.
• Are there floor boxes for power and data? Mark them on your plan so we cut around them.
• Is there a lift you can book for deliveries? Flooring is heavy.
• Who handles the service charge areas outside your door? Keep your order to your own space.

Keeping office floors smart

• Have the cleaners damp mop SPC and LVT daily and vacuum carpet daily.
• Keep a few spare tiles or planks from the same batch for repairs.
• Put felt pads under meeting room chairs on SPC and LVT.
• Lift heavy cabinets instead of dragging them across any floor.

For offices near building sites or busy roads, plan a deep carpet clean once or twice a year. Pick mid tone colours that hide dust between cleans.

Move in day checklist

1. The floor is laid edge to edge with no lifting corners.
2. Doors open and close freely over the new floor.
3. Floor boxes are cut neatly and open easily.
4. Joins between carpet and SPC have a neat trim.
5. Leftover pieces are labelled and stored.
6. Cables are tucked away and nothing crosses a walkway.
