Mkeka wa mbao questions

What is mkeka wa mbao in English?

It means wood mat. Shops also call it vinyl carpet mkeka, cushion vinyl or PVC floor roll.

Is cushion vinyl in Kenya the same thing?

It is the same family of product. Ask us for the thickness of the roll in stock before you buy.

Mkeka wa mbao vs tiles: which is better?

Tiles last longer but cost more and need a fundi. Mkeka is cheaper, warmer underfoot and you can lift it when you move.

How do I make it last?

Lift furniture instead of dragging it and put felt pads under chair legs. Keep sharp heels and grit off it where you can.

How much do I need?

Multiply room length by width and add a little for trimming at the walls. Our price per square metre guide shows how to do the sums.
