In short: The Excel Deco showroom is at Summit House Room 9, Moi Avenue, Nairobi CBD, open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. It sells blinds, window film, SPC, vinyl, laminate, carpets, mats, gym flooring, artificial grass, wall panels and acrylic mirrors, with Mpesa payment and delivery across Kenya.

What you can see at the showroom

• Window blinds: zebra, roller, blackout, sunscreen, vertical, venetian and bamboo
• Flooring: SPC, laminate, LVT, mkeka wa mbao and WPC decking
• Carpets: wall to wall carpet and carpet tiles
• Mats: coin, rubber, PVC, EVA, entrance and anti fatigue
• Walls and glass: fluted and PU stone panels, mirrors and window film

Picture a couple from Thika who could not choose between grey and oak SPC from phone photos. Ten minutes at the showroom with both samples on the floor settled it.

What to bring to the showroom

A good visit takes the guesswork out of your order. Bring:

• Measurements. Room lengths and widths for floors. Window widths and heights for blinds. See how to calculate carpet size and how to measure windows for blinds.
• Photos. Snap each room in daylight and the floor up close.
• A colour sample. A paint chip, a cushion or a photo of your sofa.
• Your budget. We will show you options that fit it.
• Your fundi or designer. Bring them along. They can check sizes and finishes on the spot.

Summit House is on Moi Avenue in the heart of the CBD, within walking distance of most matatu stages. Saturday is a good day to visit if you work in the week. Call or WhatsApp 0757 753 748 before you come if you want a specific product ready to view.

Come with a rough plan. Which rooms need floors, which windows need blinds and which walls you want to dress up. We will walk you through samples of each and give you a quote you can take home.

Ordering from outside Nairobi

Live in Nakuru, Eldoret or Mombasa? You do not need to travel.

1. Send sizes and photos on WhatsApp to 0757 753 748.
2. We send a quote and photos or videos of the products.
3. Pay by Mpesa.
4. We courier your order to your town.

In Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos and Kajiado we deliver and install. Delivery in Nairobi is same or next day.

Sending sizes? Write width first, then height, in metres or centimetres. Add a photo with a tape measure in it if you can. That one photo saves a lot of back and forth.

What we do not sell

We would rather tell you now than waste your trip. Excel Deco does not sell curtains, wallpaper or tiles. We do sell blinds that work well with curtains, wall panels that replace wallpaper on a feature wall and SPC flooring that can go over old tiles. Not sure which floor suits your home? Read best flooring for Kenyan homes.

Here is what we do stock. Floors: SPC, vinyl and LVT, laminate, mkeka wa mbao, carpets and carpet tiles, rubber and gym flooring. Windows: blinds and window film. Walls: fluted panels, PU stone panels and acrylic mirrors. Outdoors: artificial grass, football turf and WPC decking. Mats: door mats, anti slip mats, coin mats and EVA mats. If you need something we do not stock, we will tell you straight.

Finishing a new house?

Many visitors come in when a new house is nearly done. Walk through the whole place with us in one visit: floors, blinds, window film, wall panels and mats. Our interior finishing checklist helps you list every room before you come.

A tip from the showroom floor: choose the floor before the blinds and wall panels. The floor is the biggest surface in the room, so the rest should work around it. Take a photo of your chosen floor when you come back to pick blinds.

Finishing in stages is fine too. Many people do floors first, then blinds a month later when the budget allows. Your quote stays a useful guide either way.
